This coffee comes from a group of farmers who were recent victims of armed conflict and are in a program for land restitution. Now that they have regained their land, they have decided to put it to good use and produce high quality organic coffee. Sol Naciente was created in 2008 with the goal of uniting competing producers from the Sierra Nevada region. These producers come from two townships: Siberia and San Pedro which are located in the municipality of Ciénaga.
Why we love this coffee
- Much less acidic than most lighter roasted coffees because coffee loses it’s sense of “brightness” the darker and hotter the bean is roasted.
- Holds up to cream and sugar very well.
- Works great with a variety of brew methods. It’s particularly great as a french press or when prepared with a good ole’ home coffee maker.
