Organic Colombia Sol Naciente

What a great story.  

Many of these producers were recent victims of armed conflict and they are in a program for land restitution. Now that they have regained their land, they decided to put it to good use and produce high quality organic coffee. Sol Naciente was created in 2008 with the goal of uniting competing producers from the Sierra Nevada region. These producers come from two townships: Siberia and San Pedro which are located in the municipality of Ciénaga. 

This shade grown organic coffee is fully washed which generally leads to a cleaner and more consistent flavor.

Why we love this coffee:

• These producers have been terrorized by political bandits and now have joined forces to oppose and rise above the violence by creating sustainable coffee farms in the region.
• Organic coffee means that the farmers are committed to healing the land and people where the coffee comes from.
• Tastes amazing!  No matter how you like to brew your coffee, you will find incredibly rich flavors of fig, raisin, orange and cocoa in your cup.  It is beautifully light and low acid.
